Kitchen Assistant (Casual, part-time)

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to work in our busy Restaurant, Meadow Croft Kitchen. This vacancy is for a casual, part-time, position, which will include weekend working on a rota basis. 

Job Purpose:

Undertaking kitchen porter duties, and other restaurant duties as required, in order to contribute to the provision of a quality service performing to the highest catering and customer service standards.

Main Responsibilities:

·         Food preparation and cooking, with the ability to work on several items simultaneously.

·         Undertaking and monitoring food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing of cooked items (and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates).

·         Ensuring correct portion control and adhering to the company allergen procedures.

·         Working closely with the Head Chef and Supervisors to ensure menu and food consistency/standards.

·         Ensuring that all food produced in the kitchen meets required quality standards.

·         Maintaining an understanding and knowledge of health and hygiene practices, allergen awareness, equipment, product and menus, and be prepared to attend any training required.

·         Receiving and processing deliveries.

·         Cleaning the kitchen, including washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls.

·         General kitchen duties, including washing up.
