Sales and Merchandising Assistant.
Permanent – Part-time 4 days per week (with possible overtime and to include weekend work on a rota basis). Normal hours of work are 8.45am – 5.00pm (with some flexibility needed).
We are currently recruiting for a Sales and Merchandising Assistant. The role will involve ensuring that products and brands are merchandised effectively to maximise customer interest and sales. Executing the garden centres’ seasonal display’s including Christmas and the established German Market. Providing exceptional customer service which enhances sales and customer satisfaction. Main Responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with all departments across the garden centre to build and maintain product displays that maximise customer interest and sales levels.
- Key role in creating seasonal displays and merchandising new product lines, and overseeing displays for outdoor and indoor living, homewares, giftware, accessories and apparel.
- Executing the garden centres’ seasonal displays, including Christmas and the garden centres’ established German Market.
- Interacting with customers on the shop floor and serving customers at tills when required.
- Promoting outdoor living products, taking orders/arranging delivery and assisting with any enquiries.
- Ordering and re-ordering of relevant products, and offering buyer input, where required.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels on shelves, displays and racks as well as maintaining, cleaning and organising back stock.
- Assist with garden centre layout and support design of retail areas.
- Install and maintain POS materials.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and generating ideas about possible product lines or in store displays.
- Maintaining knowledge of outdoor and indoor living product lines and passing this knowledge on to colleagues and our customers.
- Restocking product lines within the retail area.
- Receiving and processing deliveries.
- Maintaining products and fixtures to keep them in pristine condition.
- Assisting with other garden centre tasks as and when required, including cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Supporting other departments, as required, including any reasonable duties within that department.
General Duties:

• Ensure professionalism and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
• Attend relevant training and take responsibility for own development.
