Seasonal Catering Assistants

Seasonal Catering Assistants

(Various hours available including weekends)

With our German Market only a few months away, we are now looking to commence recruiting team members to work in our German Market food outlets. The German Market runs from September through to the end of December and therefore candidates must be able to commit to working throughout this period. Ideally we are looking for candidates who can commit to at least 3 days a week, including alternate weekends.

This is a fast-paced, customer-facing role and therefore the ideal candidates would have previous customer service and/or hospitality experience. The role will also involve handling and preparing hot and cold food so relevant experience and/or knowledge of food hygiene and safety would be an advantage (although training will be given).

The role of a Seasonal Catering Assistant includes:

Primarily working in our retail catering outlets (e.g. German Market food stalls, The10th Hole) with food preparation and cooking, serving of food and drinks, taking orders, operating tills and running food where required.
General kitchen duties, including washing up, and washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and seating areas as required.
Maintaining an understanding and knowledge of health and hygiene practices, allergen awareness, equipment, product and menus.
 Receiving and processing deliveries.
Undertaking any other reasonable duties which may arise during seasonal events, including supporting other teams/departments within the garden centre, e.g. restocking product lines within the retail areas, receiving and processing deliveries, cleaning/maintenance tasks, etc.

To apply, or for more information about the role, please email [email protected]. Applications must include a CV together with a covering letter, detailing why you feel you are the right candidate for the position and whether you are looking for full-time or part-time hours. In line with GDPR and our Job Application Privacy Notice, please do not apply through Facebook or any other social media platform. Please also be aware that unfortunately we are not able employ students until they have completed their GCSEs.

Please note that we will be interviewing as and when we receive suitable CVs, so there is no set closing date for this position.

We look forward to receiving your application.

This weekend marks the 25th anniversary of W.D Smith & Son acquiring Meadow Croft Garden Centre!

Meadow Croft was acquired by W.D. Smith & Son in 1999 from the Snellings who had founded Meadow Croft Nurseries (as it was then called) shortly after the end of the Second World War, who first specialised in growing rose bushes.

A big thank you to everyone who's ever popped into the garden centre, bought a plant or stopped by for some tea and cake at the restaurant. Meadow Croft wouldn't be possible without you
